Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is extending its partnership with global ERP provider TechnologyOne, signing a new deal to implement Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) to deliver greater value to its 145,000 residents and 500,000 annual visitors.
Spread across 709 square kilometres northwest of Belfast, Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council manages approximately £200m worth of public assets, including public parks and leisure facilities. From day-to-day operations to long-term asset planning, the move to TechnologyOne’s modern asset management solution will provide a holistic view of each public asset, enabling council to increase asset life, reduce risk and build operational efficiency into the entire asset lifecycle. The solution will also seamlessly integrate with the rest of TechnologyOne’s solution, providing the council with one single source of truth.
Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council began its digital transformation journey with TechnologyOne in 2021, going live with the provider’s leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) OneCouncil solution, which include Financials and Human Resources & Payroll. Switching from on-premise systems and servers to a highly secure SaaS platform at the time significantly reduced the burden and up-keep of council IT systems, with upgrades carried out virtually by TechnologyOne online and at its data centres.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Councillor Mark Cooper said: “TechnologyOne’s extensive local government experience means they understand the council’s evolving needs. By extending the partnership to include EAM, the council can effectively streamline its operational processes and ensure the longevity of its infrastructure investments.”
“By investing in advanced technology like this, the council is not only future-proofing its operations but also demonstrating its commitment to responsible financial management and meeting the needs of the community."
TechnologyOne UK Executive Vice President, Leo Hanna, said: "Thirteen years of budget pressures, more cuts expected, and rising resident demand for services amid the cost-of-living crisis are putting significant pressure on councils. Our SaaS solution is tailored to meet the unique needs of local government bodies, providing them with the tools to enhance efficiency, transparency, and overall service delivery while lowering their costs.”
“Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council’s decision to expand on their digital transformation and implement our EAM solution showcases their commitment to embracing innovation for the benefit of their community and we are thrilled to partner with them on their journey toward digital excellence.”
TechnologyOne’s extended partnership with Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council marks further growth for the technology company in Northern Ireland. TechnologyOne’s products are used widely in the region including neighbouring Mid & East Antrim Borough Council, Mid Ulster District and Fermanagh & Omagh District Councils.
