Hart District Council is embarking on a major digital transformation to futureproof its operations. A new strategic partnership with global Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider TechnologyOne will ensure long-term resilience and efficiency for the council amid increasing inflationary pressures across the UK local government sector.

The implementation will leverage Solution as a Service or ‘SaaS Plus’; a first-of-its-kind offering, that significantly reduces risk and speeds up time to value by taking responsibility for delivering the complete Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution. This includes the implementation, operation, and support for a single annual fee, avoiding the high initial outlay that usually comes with an ERP implementation.

The move will see Hart District Council, regularly named among the UK’s most desirable places to live, streamline workflows, unlock efficiencies and enhance services to deliver greater value to its  residents.

TechnologyOne’s Financials will remove the burden of manual data entry and reporting and reduce the time it takes to develop the Whole of Government Accounts (WGA) report, from three working days to instantaneously, freeing up staff to extrapolate further insights.

Hart District Council Chief Executive Daryl Phillips said: “Despite the challenging financial conditions faced by many councils, we are fortunate to be in a strong position here in Hart. However, it is crucial for us to proactively maintain this favourable position. We are committed to leveraging the latest tools to maximise the value of our resources.”

“We understand that any misstep in financial planning can significantly impact our residents, especially given the current cost-of-living crisis. Therefore, we are confident in our ability to make swift, data-informed decisions and identify trends and opportunities to recover savings and drive efficiencies.”

TechnologyOne UK Executive Vice President, Leo Hanna, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Hart District Council on their journey toward digital excellence.”

“It is particularly important during this time of economic hardship that local councils have accurate information at their disposal so they can avoid costly mistakes. By making strategic investments in innovative solutions, councils can not only overcome financial constraints but enhance service delivery, ensure sustainability, and meet the ever-changing needs and expectations of the local community.”

TechnologyOne partners with unitary authorities and district councils across the United Kingdom, including Blackpool Council, Conwy County Borough Council and Derby City Council.
