The University of Buckingham brings its student experience into a new era

The University of Buckingham is expanding on its digital transformation, incorporating TechnologyOne’s Student Management Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution to provide students with a one-stop-shop for administrative services from enrolment to graduation and everything in between using any device, anywhere, at any time. The solution will help the university better keep pace with the ever-growing demands of students.

Late last year the university signed a five-year agreement to consolidate its software stack, moving its Financials and Supply Chain, HR and Payroll, Record Compliance, Business Process Automation and Business Analytics to TechnologyOne’s leading true SaaS OneEducation solution.

Rather than being an on-premise application lifted and shifted to the cloud, which can reduce speed and compromise user experience and security, OneEducation was designed for the world of SaaS, enabling institutions to operate more efficiently.

The University of Buckingham’s Vice Chancellor, Professor James Tooley, said: “Moving away from on-premise applications to a modern SaaS solution will significantly improve our service to students while simultaneously reducing our risk. It is one of the many innovations allowing us to focus on delivering an exemplary experience for our students, staff and suppliers."

TechnologyOne provides a true SaaS solution, focusing on device flexibility and future readiness for universities, and constantly deploying platform-wide security enhancements, ensuring universities benefit from the most recent updates for optimal protection.

The project will leverage the global software vendor’s unique Solution-as-a-Service model, also known as SaaS Plus, saving time and money for the university, who will enjoy the simplicity of a single, annual fee to implement, operate and support the software.
